The DeLong Co., Inc. Internship Program offers college students a complete immersion into agronomy, seed and grain operations, along with other opportunities across other departments based on interest and need. Rather than following a rigid, pre-set schedule, most of what you’ll experience is shaped around you: your manager gets to know your interests and builds your day-to-day around what you want to learn. There’s a core foundation every intern should walk away understanding, but beyond that, it’s an open door to explore the parts of the business you’re most curious about.
For students who are interested in a career in agricultural business, logistics, grain, seed or agronomy, an internship with our company provides hands-on experience and industry insight to prepare for your future. Many of our former interns become full-time DeLong Co. employees upon graduation!

Internships
Agronomy/Seed: As an agronomy and seed intern, you will be provided with an invaluable hands-on experience in our agronomy and seed divisions. You will actively engage in various facets of the industry, graining comprehensive exposure.
Grain Operations: As a grain operations intern, you will be provided with a comprehensive immersion into all aspects of the grain operations industry. You will gain valuable industry experience with a variety of diverse grain operations, including truck houses, rail loaders, container loaders and vessel loaders.
Grain Merchandising: As a grain merchandising intern, you will be provided with a comprehensive immersion into all aspects of the grain merchandising industry. You will gain excellent real-world experience with exposure to all tasks and duties related to being a grain merchant.
Rotational/Exploratory: Not sure yet which part of agriculture is the right fit for you? Our rotational internship is built for students who know they want a career in ag business but aren’t ready to commit to one department just yet. You’ll spend around two weeks with each of our divisions and departments, getting a real, ground-level look at agronomy, grain, accounting, transport and more. Toward the end of the summer, you’ll choose one area to return to for your final month, giving you the chance to go deeper into whichever part of DeLong Co. you connected with most. It’s a great way to see the full picture of what we do before deciding where you want to grow.
General Interest: In addition to our structured programs, we also welcome interns across other departments based on student interest and department need. Details
Compensation: We provide a competitive wage for interns and new hire trainees.
Education Required: Students should have achieved or be working toward a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Ag Business, Agronomy, Soil Science, Ag Engineering or other related fields.
Experience: Agricultural or farming experience is a plus, but not required to apply.
Skills Required: Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary. Candidates should be driven for success.
